A visit to Uni with Kelly

Boy am I glad I am not in college anymore! The boys and I took Kelly (our wonderful sitter!) back to "uni" on Sunday. Her school is about 45 mins from us and on the way to one of my favorite places to shop in England...Costco!! Kelly had never been before so I was looking forward to showing her what she had been missing. She had loads of things to bring back to school so the boys and I helped her take it into her "flat". She shares this flat with 4 other roommates, 2 boys and 2 girls. Each of them have their own bedroom but share a common living area with a kitchen and a small family room. Her room was small, but neat and tidy of course.

On the other hand, the common living area was not so clean. Most of her roommates had been on break for a week....all except for one boy, the slob! It really was disgusting! The boys were holding their noses and waving their hands saying, "it stinks!" or "that smell is not going away!" Here is an idea of what she came home to. We have no idea how long this curry had been out on the table, but it smelled terrible.

I took this opportunity to "teach" the boys about being respectful when living with other people and picking up after themselves! I will keep reminding them for the next 15 years! Now I know that many of us, including me, complain about our husbands not being as tidy as we would like, but just remember the good ole' days of college roommates!! Kelly, I really hope it gets better!
