Awesome fishing day with Austin!

We took a trip to Cold Spring, KY to visit Austin.  He had invited us for his family fishing day at work, but unfortunately, the event was canceled because of the weather.  It was supposed to be quite miserable all weekend.  Lucky for us, the rain held off until later in the afternoon and we were able to get in some amazing fishing.  It was also a good thing that the event was postponed because we had the place to ourselves!  Austin has 2 ponds at his work that are stocked with catfish, bass, blue gill...and who knows what else.  They are only allowed to be fished by kids.  As soon as you walk up on the dock, the fish start swimming towards you expecting to be fed.  It was awesome!

Max and Blake were so excited when they looked down as saw hundreds of fish swimming all around!  Blake's goal was to catch a big catfish.

Within a few seconds, Max was working so hard reeling in a huge catfish.  That fish did not want to be pulled in!  They moved over off of the deck and I honestly thought that the fish was going to pull Max into the water!  He worked so hard!

Blake was ready for his turn!!

It took him a little bit longer, but he eventually got his too!  They caught about 17 fish in just a couple of hours!  It was the best fishing experience they have had and reinforced their joy for it!  Dan is quite happy!

Thanks Austin for a great time!

Spring Break Weekend in the Dells

We decided to take a long weekend trip to Wisconsin Dells.  Neither Dan or I had been there so we weren't sure what to expect.  We searched online for several different hotels with indoor waterparks.  In the end, we booked a room at The Wilderness and we had a great time.  This place is HUGE and has 3 indoor parks.  We only ended up trying out 2 of them.  Max and Blake loved the wave pool and the large waterslide that was in the same area.  We had a great time and they really improved on their swimming skills as the weekend progressed.

The place was packed!!  We were able to all fit on a family tube and ride the waves for awhile.  After the first day, we figured out that we needed to get to the wave pool as soon as it opened in order to get the lounge chairs for the day.  It was crazy!

The first night, we ate at a place called Moose Jaw and this is their delivery car.  They had a couple of slug bugs and PT Cruisers with these moose on the top.  It was quite a site.

The final night we ate at Buffalo Phil's.  We had very good steaks and the boys enjoyed it since we were able to get our food delivered by an electric train.

It was a great little weekend trip and we all had a wonderful time!
