Halloween 2008
Halloween isn't celebrated quite as much in England as in the USA. It has become more popular over the last 3 years, but people seem to think of it more of a "dark" holiday than just a fun celebration for the kids. The boys have been on half term break all week and we have been traveling in Austria and Germany with Dan's parents. (Pictures coming!) Here is a picture of our "decorated" pumpkins. (Promise they will be better next year...if Daddy is home to carve them!)
We have always celebrated with some of the other American "ISEs" (international service employees) and warn the neighbors that we are coming. This year was great fun as Corrina decided to host the party for the second year. Last year there were only about 6 kids, but this year there were at least 20!!
The group has changed significantly as more and more families with young children have moved to the UK. Max decided to go as a bat and Blake was a dragon (we can't decide if it is a dragon or a dinosaur!).
Max and Blake are having a great time with Drake (Batman) and Ian (a cockroach). Anyway, we stopped by a couple of our neighbors first and then headed to Corrina's for the big trick or treating and party after. Dan was back in the states (for the 2nd year in a row!). This year wasn't just for work but to be with Kara for Dad's weekend at U of I. Hopefully I will be getting some pictures from that event too!
