Quick catch up

It has been a couple of weeks since I have posted and now I need to catch up...quickly! We leave on Friday morning at 4:30am so I really shouldn't be doing this right now, but don't want to get further behind. I'm just basically going to post pictures to share a bit of what has been happening. (For those that haven't visited us, above is our wonderful home. Thanks Nicola and Gary for letting us live here for the last 3+ years! We have loved it!!) Oh - by the way - the car is for sale! Any one interested??

Friday March 13th - Red Nose Day at school. It is a fund raiser day for Comic Relief which helps support children in Africa and the UK. The boys could wear "pyjamas" to school and donate 1 pound for the day. There was a little bit of drama that day as Max walked out the door and got to school without his slippers and was really upset. It tugged at Mummy's heart so bad that I went home and took them back to him at school. He was so thrilled to see me...yes, I am a softy!

Saturday, March 14th - Dan went fishing in the morning and Kelly came over to stay with the boys while I went to my favorite class at the gym. She wanted to do hand and feet painting since she is making a scrapbook for the boys. One was blue and the other was red. This is what happened to the water! They loved it!!

On Sunday, we were the guests of honor at a party with just a few of the people that work for Dan. Surprisingly, they still like him after 3 years and wanted to do this for us! We had a wonderful time and Dan just couldn't keep in the emotions as the night went on and he was on his 10th glass of wine!!...and then some scotch!

Ben and Emma - our gracious hosts! Thank you so much for having all of us over to your home. Ben made the dinner which was curry, both lamb and chicken, along with homemade nan bread. I actually ate it and enjoyed it! I would have eaten all of the bread but decided I needed to hold myself back...not sure why as Dan certainly didn't hold back on the alcohol...(see previous post #13!).

Dave and Jan - the lucky guy that gets to take Dan's job! I'm not sure Jan thinks he is so "lucky"!

Ruth and Bob - Bob is retired and they have been traveling the world. They returned from New Zealand just in time to say "good-bye". Maarten - He had also just returned from a holiday in India for a wedding of a co-worker. Marteen and his wife, Luz, are from Holland and she was there picking up their children from family and friends who took care of them while in India.

Andy and Jo - Thanks everyone for coming and saying "good-bye for now" as we know that you will all be coming to Peoria someday. Martin and Jenny - Sorry I didn't get a picture of you!

The kids - this was the only time we were able to get them to sit down! The boys crashed on the way home and were not ready to get up for school on Monday!

Thursday, March 19th - We invited just a few of Max's classmates, siblings, and mums over for "tea" - which is normally a lite dinner. We ordered Papa John's pizza - which none of them had ever had and enjoyed it! - and some favorite American desserts. They love scotcheroos! The above picture is Tabitha, Thomas, Natasha, Max and Chloe. The wagon is quite the hit as I have never seen one in England!

Teddy, William, Max and Blake all playing with the Shake and Go racetrack.

On Saturday, March 21st, we decided to have a few people over for a "bbq" and help to clear out our fridge and drinks. It was great fun and we managed to clear up some wine, but not much else! What are we going to do with all of Dan's alcohol!!? These are the girls (Jada, Jerha, Gwen and Jasmine) enjoying their meal without those boys around!

The crazy boys sitting outside in the cold!! - Tyler, Drake, Blake and Max. Tyler's twin brother Jordan decided it would be safer to sit inside with the Dads.

"The Dads" plus Jerha - Jerome, Jason and Dan. Can you tell that they were wanting me to just get out of the way of the tv??!! They were watching the Superbowl. Yes, Dan still had it taped and vowed to me that he would watch it before we moved. Sorry Gary and Warren that you had very little understanding of the game and didn't enjoy it quite as much as the American guys!

Thanks for smiling Andy and Gwen! Gary was just mad that the rugby game was over! (Sorry Warren, you were the only person I didn't get a picture of! Next time...)

Kelly, Fiona, and Ahdonna - I'm thinking Kelly might help us out taking some of these drinks off our hands! Please, Kel, take the liquor!

Holli, Natascha, and Glenda - I will miss you all terribly. Thanks for helping to make so many great memories in England. We wish we could have invited a hundred more people that have made our time here so special, but I just couldn't take anymore stress at this point! Had a major meltdown moment on Friday...

All the kids together and having a great time. Max, Blake and Drake had a fab time chasing the "big boys" all over the garden. Everyone was quite worn out by the end of the night. Max and Blake just couldn't take it anymore...

Lucky for me, the next day was Mum's Day in the UK. Thanks to the teachers at school and at church, I received some lovely cards and gifts from my wonderful little guys! Since Dan chose not to acknowledge this day, I'm hoping for a fantastic Mother's Day in May when we are living in the USA!

We are off to Nebraska and then on to IL to find a house and schools! Please be praying for safe travels and that everything falls into place!

Wow -- you guys have had quite a busy week! Miss you tons and can't wait to see you very soon. I know the last few weeks -- wait, make that months -- have been quite difficult and emotional and I'm praying for all of you. It will get easier with time, I promise.
