One Final Trip to London

I can't even count how many times I have been to London and have enjoyed every trip...with Dan, with girlfriends, and our families...and have great memories. There is so much to see and do and it is just a great city. On Sunday, we decided to take Max and Blake once more in hopes that they might remember a few of the sights. We got up nice and early to catch the 8:45a train from Peterborough. Dan had a few too many glasses of wine the night before and was struggling a bit! The train ride is just over an hour (on the slow train) and the boys spent some of their time playing cards with Dan, when all he really wanted to do was sleep!

We arrived about 10am and got right on the Underground at Kings Cross Station and decided to check out Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

We were walking by the clock at 11:00am so the boys were able to hear Ben chime for awhile. Our next stop was Westminster Abbey. On Sunday, there is no access to visitors so we weren't able to go inside. Max and Blake wouldn't enjoy it much anyway!

We then crossed over the Millennium Bridge to ride the big ferris wheel - The London Eye.

Big Ben and Houses of Parliament

It always seems to be cloudy when we ride on the eye so you don't get much of a view...at least it wasn't raining today! The ride lasts about 30 mins. Our next stop was to Covent Garden to search the market for photos, paintings, etc to bring back to the states with us. We got back on the Underground...

and soon arrived at Covent Garden! It is one of my favorite areas to visit. There is a Arts and Craft market there most days of the week, street entertainers, restaurants, and more shopping!

Max and Blake weren't too keen on the shopping and just wanted to chase the birds. We had to take a break during the shopping and visit the wonderful crepe place. We loaded the kids up on sugar with a Nutella and a Mars bar crepe. I didn't get a picture, but both crepes were wonderful! Max had chocolate from ear to ear. Next to the crepe place is a cupcake shop.

Do they look like they have had enough sugar?!

Check out these cupcakes!! Very interesting looking...but I'm sure very yummy!

Then it was back to the shopping for a bit but Dan and I took turns so the boys could run off some of their energy chasing the birds. We did find a few photos for our new house so it was a success. After while, we needed to get something of substance in our tummies. Max wanted to eat at "his" restaurant.

This is right outside of Covent Garden. We had a great meal and decided to call it a day. Everyone fell asleep on the train ride home. These are the days we are going to miss!
